5. Posology and Administration

It is to be taken orally, during meal. A recommended dose is 40 mg twice daily. Further on a dose is chosen in respect of a clinical state, it will be increased up to a maximal daily dose 160 mg (80 mg twice a day). If needed a daily dose may be increased up to the maximal one during 3 days. Dose correction in elderly people (65 years old and more), in kidney failure and in smokers is not needed. In patients with light or moderately evidenced liver failure the drug dose should be reduced.

Asthenia, headache, constipation, dry mouth, dyspepsia, elevated salivation, nausea, vomiting, psychomotor excitement, bad feeling of internal discomfort, dizziness, dystonia, extrapyramidal syndrome, high arterial tension, insomnia or drowsiness, tremor, blurring of vision, convulsions. Increase of the body mass (in average by 0.5 kg).

In Geodon therapy in patients having in anamnesis convulsion states care should be taken.
Efficiency and safety of the use in patients under 18 years of age has not been studied.
