5. Posology and Administration

Glyburide should be taken orally during meal. The drug’s dose should be selected by a doctor individually for each patient according to the level of glycemia. Hypersensitivity, kidney failure or compromised kidney function, severe infection, the acute and chronic diseases accompanied with hypoxypathy: heart or respiratory failure, recent myocardial infarction, porphyria, pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding, infectious diseases, major surgeries, traumas, major burns and other state which require insulin therapy, compromised liver function, chronic alcoholism, acute alcoholic intoxication.

Care should be taken while using Glyburide in:
-fever syndrome;
-thyroid gland diseases (with dysfunction of thyroid gland);
-in kidney diseases;
-during the treatment it is not recommended to take alcoholic beverages.
During Glyburide therapy bronchopulmonary infections and infections of urinary system should be avoided.

9. Overdosing

10. Side Effects

As preventive measures for the progression of the mentioned symptoms it is recommended to take Glyburide in 2 or 3 intakes; a slow increase of the drug’s dose also improves its tolerance; likewise “metallic” after-taste in the mouth, allergic reactions, anemia.

11. Pregnancy and Lactation

Glyburide is counterindicated in pregnancy. During the treatment breastfeeding should be stopped (there are no data on the drug’s ability to excrete into breast milk).

12. Driving

In the period of treatment car driving or other types of activities which require alertness and rapidity of action are not recommended.
